"Hope for Connecticut's Cancer Patients: Phase I Clinical Trials at Yale"

Dr. Patricia LoRusso from Yale Cancer Center to Speak at West Hartford Public Library in Blue Back Square. 
Early-phase clinical trials at Yale enable cancer patients to access the most cutting-edge, novel, promising therapeutics to fight cancer that are available worldwide. These treatment options offer patients hope-as they may help to save or extend their lives. Dr. Patricia LoRusso will discuss what early-phase (Phase I) clinical trials are, how they are conducted, how patients can apply to participate, and what resources are involved (e.g., manpower, facilities, procedures). She will also describe the differences between Phase 1, Phase II, and Phase III clinical trials work at Yale and how it is helping patients and the cancer community at large- locally and throughout Connecticut.

Dr. Patricia LoRusso- As the director of the Phse I Clinical Trial Program and associate director of innovative medicine at Yale Cancer Center, Dr. LoRusso is a nationally recognized expert in developing new cancer drugs through clinical trials.
