It is my pleasure to invite you to join me, Congressman John Larson, Acting Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi of the U.S. Social Security Administration, and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, U.S. Secretary of Labor's Representative for Pensions and Retirement, for the second in a national series of conversations to discuss solutions to the retirement crisis.
This special gathering will take place on Friday, June 17, 11:00 a.m. at the Hartford Public Library's Center for Contemporary Culture, 500 Main Street, Hartford, CT.
According to the National Institute on Retirement Security, 57% of working age Americans do not own any retirement account assets. The way our nation approaches retirement savings needs to be improved, both at the state and national levels. Everyone, regardless of where they work or how much they earn, should be able to save easily and be able to take those savings from job to job, so all can retire with dignity. Retirement reform will take hard work, imagination, and innovation from all those involved.
This event will include a panel presentation and audience participation. Please feel free to send questions in advance and let us know if you will join us by contacting David Radcliffe at David.radcliffe@ct.gov or 203-514-8893.
Thank you in advance for your contributions to this important issue.
Shawn T. Wooden
